Preventative Pet Care Exams in Saint Johns, FL

An Annual Wellness Exam (bi-annual for our senior pets) is the best way to catch health issues before they become serious. During your visit, our veterinarians perform a comprehensive physical assessment of your pet's body condition. This includes a thorough "nose to tail" exam to ensure your pet is thriving.

Our Wellness Exams Include:

  • A thorough assessment check of your pet’s weight, coat, and overall body condition.
  • A detailed examination of the eyes, ears, and oral cavity for signs of infection, inflammation, or dental disease.
  • Listening for abnormal heart and lung sounds (auscultation), and gently pressing on the abdomen to assess organ health and any areas of discomfort.
  • Palpation of the abdomen to detect any areas of discomfort. This also allows us to assess internal organs for any abnormalities in size.
  • Thorough neurological exam to detect concerns of joints and spine.
  • Assessment of lymphnodes. Enlarged lymphnodes may be a sign of infection, inflammation, or cancer.

Additional Screening

  • Heartworm Screening: A simple blood draw to ensure your pet is protected from common Florida parasites.
  • Comprehensive Blood Work & Urinalysis: Advanced testing to monitor organ function and catch hidden illnesses early.
  • Intestinal Parasite Screening: Routine testing to keep your pet, and your home, safe and parasite-free.
